Singapore Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography
As more and more critical care physicians can master basic echocardiography, echocardiography has become part of routine procedure in daily management of patients, especially in patients with shock or showing respiratory distress. Yet, the applications are mostly confined to simple assessment of left and right heart functions, fluid status as well as cardiac tamponade. Unfortunately, resources for those who want to advance their knowledge and skills in critical care echocardiography are limited, especially in the SE Asia region. SACCE aims to provide such a venue for those who want to learn advanced methods in assessing their patients. Due to Singapore’s unique geographical locations, SACCE is an ideal place to act as a hub for SE Asia advanced critical care echo training.
SACCE is organised jointly by Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Nepean Institute of Critical Care Education and Research(NICCER, Australia), both of which are renowned for high quality medical education program. The two bodies have now joined forces with the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) to offer this ESICM-endorsed SACCE course. This course fulfils part of the European Diploma in Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography (EDEC) examination requirements.
