**IMPORTANT: RACE for Nepean is designed and catered for Nepean Hospital Anaesthetic Department, therefore is open to Anaesthetic staff at Nepean Hospital only.
RACE (Rapid Assessment by Cardiac Echo) is a transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) course specifically designed for the critical care and acute care physicians. Its objective is to equip physicians in these areas with the skills and knowledge to perform focused bedside TTE so that common cardiac and haemodynamic disorders can be identified quickly. RACE is suitable for physicians with little or no prior knowledge of TTE, and there is a strong focus on HANDS-ON practice in this course.

- The registration fee includes a copy of McLean & Huang (2012) Critical Care Ultrasound Manual. Elsevier Australia.
- Please note that ePre-course will not be available until 2021. Hence, a Certificate of Attendance will be issued after successful completion of the course.
Event Timelines
Familiarising echo machines and the various knobs by practising the standard transthoracic views on models in hands-on sessions. Learn how to assess the left and right heart, fluid status and identify pericardial effusion and cardiac tamponade.

Course registration is not transferable, unless approved by the Event Secretary.
Cancellation by Registrant will attract the following administration fees (as % of total purchase fees) regardless of reasons: more than 8 weeks prior: 5%; 4 to 8 weeks prior: 20%; 2 to 4 weeks prior: 70%; less than 2 weeks prior: 80%; or no show: 100% (no refund).
The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course due to natural disaster, pandemic, not enough interest in the course, or other unforeseeable circumstances. If a course is cancelled by the Organiser, full (100%) refund will be returned to the Registrant. If the course is postponed, the Registrant can either seek a full refund or attend the course on the new date(s). Please note that while we will try our best to announce any cancellation or postponement at least 20 days prior to the original delivery date, this cannot be guaranteed in unforeseen circumstances.
