Associate Professor Anfernee Yim

A/Professor Anfernee YIM is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine in Hong
Kong Adventist Hospital (Stubbs Road), Hong Kong Adventist Hospital (Tsuen Wan) and the CUHK
Medical Centre. He is also the Clinical Associate Professor (honorary) of the Accident and
Emergency Medicine Academic Unit, Faculty of Medicine, CUHK.

Anfernee is multi=talented, not only he is Fellow in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, but he is also trained in toxicology. He laid out the training pathway for his coming fellows. He has a clinical attachment with the NICCER in 2015. He was the instructor of various echocardiography courses in Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China, Indonesia, Singapore and Europe. He is a supervisor of the European Diploma in Critical Care Echocardiography (EDEC). He is one of the member of the Critical Care in Emergency Medicine Special Interest Group of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine.

Anfernee was active in promoting the integration of critical care elements in daily emergency room
setting in the past decades, both locally and internationally. He is a well known local emergency
physician resuscitating and stabilising critically ill patients in emergency room, wards, operating
theatres and sometimes out of hospital settings, Echocardiography is one of his ‘weapon’ in his
job.
