RACE (Rapid Assessment by Cardiac Echo) is a transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) course specifically designed for the critical care and acute care physicians. Its objective is to equip physicians in these areas with the skills and knowledge to perform focused bedside TTE so that common cardiac and haemodynamic disorders can be identified quickly. RACE is suitable for physicians with little or no prior knowledge of TTE, and there is a strong focus on HANDS-ON practice in this course.

✓Intravascular volume (fluid status) assessment

RACEplus is an extended course of RACE. The content of RACEplus:

♦ Day 1: RACE workshop

♦ Day 2: Intermediate (the plus) module that includes

✓Lung ultrasound

✓Echo in hypotensive patients

✓Focused assessment and feedback from instructors

✓Case interpretation workshop

Accreditations and CME points

RACEplus is a recognized course for CME purpose by various colleges in Australasia & other countries, including CICM, ACEM, ANZCA, RACP, ASUM (RCE and BELS), HKCEM and HKCA.

RACEplus is recognized by ASUM for CCPU (RCE & BELS) purposes.

What is a "sponsored" place?

One or more "sponsored" place(s) can be reserved by an organisation (e.g. local health service). The organisation (the "Sponsor") agrees to subsidise the participant(s) partly or wholly. "Sponsored" places are only available upon direct request by the Sponsors, and they will send us a list of sponsored participants. If you are not sure if you are sponsored by your organisation, please contact them directly (not us).

If you have registered for a "sponsored" place without a Sponsor, your registration will be void, and a 20% administration fee will be deducted before refund is made to you. The amount shown here is the amount you will need to pay us - it may appear as "AUD 0.00" (because your sponsor is paying us directly), or any other amount that you pay us upfront (your sponsor will reimburse you). Please contact your sponsor for details.

If I cannot attend the event, can I transfer the registration (ticket) to my friend?

Course registration is not transferable, unless approved by the Event Secretary.

Can I cancel the registration anytime?

Cancellation by Registrant will attract the following administration fees (as % of total purchase fees) regardless of reasons: more than 8 weeks prior: 5%; 4 to 8 weeks prior: 20%; 2 to 4 weeks prior: 70%; less than 2 weeks prior: 80%; or no show: 100% (no refund).

What if the Organiser cancels the event?

The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course due to natural disaster, pandemic, not enough interest in the course, or other unforeseeable circumstances.

If a course is cancelled by the Organiser, full (100%) refund will be returned to the Registrant. If the course is postponed, the Registrant can either seek a full refund or attend the course on the new date(s). Please note that while we will try our best to announce any cancellation or postponement at least 20 days prior to the original delivery date, this cannot be guaranteed in unforeseen circumstances.
