This is the first time we organised a PIE in Hong Kong. PIE is not an advanced echocardiography course and do not prepare the participants for exams (i.e. not an exam coaching course), but is a very practical workshop aims to teach those who already attained beginner’s critical care echo level (Level I) and want to move on to proper Doppler measurements. The course emphasis is on WHAT, WHY and HOW. Apart from Doppler skills, we also cover the physiology and physical principles behind the measurements.

The course was co-organised with HK College of Emergency Medicine and HK Adventist Hospital – TW. The feedbacks from the participants were excellent, and over 80% of the participants indicated that they were confident in performing Doppler measurements after the course. Many of them are already looking forward to attending an advanced course too!
