Dr CHEW Si Yuan
Dr Chew Si Yuan is currently a Consultant at the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Singapore General Hospital. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2011 and was awarded his membership to the Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK and the Royal Colleges of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2013 and 2015 respectively. He subsequently completed his specialty training in Respiratory Medicine in 2019 followed by Intensive Care Medicine in Singapore in 2020. His clinical interests include Critical Care Echocardiography and Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS). He has completed the Examination of Special Competence in Critical Care Echocardiography (CCEXAM) by the National Board of Echocardiography and the written component of the EACVI Certification in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography. He also has a keen interest in medical education and currently holds faculty appointments in the Respiratory Medicine Senior Residency specialist training programme and undergraduate medical education in Singapore. Teaching POCUS and critical care echocardiography allows him to combine both his passions and he hopes to be able to contribute towards promoting the application of POCUS in daily clinical practice for all healthcare professionals.
