Singapore Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography

The Hong Kong Critical Care Echo Summit (HKCCE Summit) is the first summit in Hong Kong that offers a forum for teaching, learning and discussions for those who are interested critical care echocardiography.  The purpose of the Summit is to pave the path for critical care physicians who want to acquire a higher echo qualification or to apply advanced echo in their daily clinical practice.

The Summit covers areas such as cardiogenic shock, severe sepsis, severe pulmonary hypertension and valvular diseases.  There will be case studies and feedback sections for echo reporting, which suits physicians who have started to perform and report more complicated cases.  These case studies and feedback will be given by international experts.

Prerequisites and Recommendation

To achieve the best learning outcome, you should:

  1. have attended a basic level (Level 1) critical care echocardiography course  (e.g. RACEplus)
  2. have learned Doppler echocardiography principles and methods formally, such as have attended a course (e.g. Practical Intermediate Echocardiography or PIE) or have spent some time (clinical attachment) in an echocardiography laboratory
  3. should have performed at least 20 Doppler echocardiography studies or are comfortable to perform common Doppler echocardiography

Oxford Textbook of Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography (Anthony McLean, Stephen Huang, and Andrew Hilton eds) (2020).  RRP ~AUD250.  You can buy this book at ~20% discount if you register HKCCE Summit.

Event FAQs

If I cannot attend the event, can I transfer the registration (ticket) to my friend?

Course registration is not transferable, unless approved by the Event Secretary.

Can I cancel the registration anytime?

Cancellation by Registrant will attract the following administration fees (as % of total purchase fees) regardless of reasons: more than 8 weeks prior: 5%; 4 to 8 weeks prior: 20%; 2 to 4 weeks prior: 70%; less than 2 weeks prior: 80%; or no show: 100% (no refund).

What if the Organiser cancels the event?

The Organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course due to natural disaster, pandemic, not enough interest in the course, or other unforeseeable circumstances. If a course is cancelled by the Organiser, full (100%) refund will be returned to the Registrant. If the course is postponed, the Registrant can either seek a full refund or attend the course on the new date(s). Please note that while we will try our best to announce any cancellation or postponement at least 20 days prior to the original delivery date, this cannot be guaranteed in unforeseen circumstances.

Do I need to buy the Oxford Textbook of Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography for the course?

No, you do not need to (optiional).  If you want to have only one book that covers Doppler and haemodynamics principles, and cardiac mechanics for echocardiography, you may find this book suits you.  This book is great for reviewing concepts both before and after the workshop.
