Professor Michel Slama

Since 1989, Professor Michel Slama have endeavored to develop echocardiography in critical care, not only in France but also across Europe, the United States, and globally.  Alongside with other colleagues, they have established numerous masterclasses in echocardiography for intensive care, as well as establishing the EDEC (European Diploma in Advanced Echocardiography for Critical Care) program. He has been a member of the EDEC committee since its creation, and is currently the Chairman of the EDEC Committee. He is involved in authoring the international recommendations on echocardiography in critical care.  He main research interest is on hemodynamic and ventricular assessments in critically ill patients.  Professore Slama has published more than a hundred of high quality paper
