c echocardiography (TTE) course targeting at more experienced or advanced p
ractitioners. This course is particularly useful to:\n\n\nPractitioners who
are already performing basic level echo but would like to advance their sk
ills and apply Doppler echo in their clinical examinations.\n \nPractitione
rs who are already performing Doppler echo but want to perfect their Dopple
r skills or want to learn more on assessments using proper Doppler measurem
ents.\n \nPractitioners who want to prepare for advanced critical care echo
cardiography qualifications (e.g. EDEC\, DDU).\n\n\nOur trainers are establ
ished international and local experts\, such as supervisors for Advanced qu
alifications (e.g. EDEC\, DDU)\, who have plenty of experience in teaching
echocardiography.\n\nThis course differs from most other courses in that th
e hands-on sessions are very interactive\, full of fun and challenges.  Ca
ndidates are requested to complete the tasks listed in the PIE Handout in t
he hands-on sessions.\n\nIf you are the type of person who is obsessed with
What? When? and Why? instead of just How?\, then this is THE COURSE for y
ou.\n\nCourse contentThe course covers basic principles and clinical topics
\, with the emphasis on Doppler assessments. Topics* may include:\n\n• Co
re topics:\n\n\n\n\nRevisiting anatomy and views in TTE\, and probe navigat
 ion\n \nPrinciples of Doppler & tissue Doppler\n \nCardiac output measureme
 nts by Doppler\n \nThe Bernoulli's equation and assumptions\n \nPulmonary a
 rtery pressure estimations\n \nTissue Doppler and applications\n \nMean pre
ssure gradient\, pressure half-time\, and their applications in valvular as
 sessments\n \nThe continuity equation and its applications\n \nAssessing LV
filling pressures\n \nDifferent types of dynamic LV outflow obstructions\n
\nPitfalls of Doppler measurements\n\n\n\n\n• Clinical topics &/or Case
studies may cover one or more of the following:\n\n\n\n\nShock\n \nShortnes

nStill wondering what we do in the course?  Why not take have a look at ou
r PIE Handout to get an idea?\n\nTentative program available here.\n\nPrere
quisites and Recommendation\n\nIn order to achieve the best learning outcom
e\, we recommend you should have\n\n\nattended a basic level (Level 1) crit
 ical care echocardiography course  (e.g. RACEplus)\, and\n \nperformed at
least 30 TTEs since attended the basic level course\, or are comfortable in
obtaining the standard TTE views. (No proofs required)\n\n\nCourse accredi
tation\n\nThis course has been approved by the the Hong Kong Academy of Med
icine\, and is accredited by the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine
\,  College of Intensive Care Medicine (Australia & NZ)\, HK College of Em

n\n \n\n\n\n \n\nRACEplus is recognized by ASUM for CCPU (RCE & BELS) pur
poses\, and is approved for 14 ACEM CPD hours.\n\nNote: Participants claimi
ng ACEM CPD hours are also required to submit an ACEM Evaluation Form to th
e College.\n\n*Important\n\n\nAll fees and payments are in Australian dolla
rs (AUD).\n\n\nOptional reading materials (Not included)\n\n\n\nOxford Text
book of Advanced Critical Care Echocardiography (Anthony McLean\, Stephen
 Huang\, and Andrew Hilton eds) (2020).  RRP £130 (~AUD240).
